Specifications and features of Huawei Y5 2017

After tech giant Huawei released the Huawei Y5 II last year, the company is taking things further by releasing an upgrade of the device which their are calling the Huawei Y5 2017. The smartphone device which was silently released boast of a bigger RAM and ROM then its predecessor.

While the Huawei Y5 II boast of a 1GB RAM and an internal storage capacity of 8GB, the new Huawei Y5 2017 features a 2GB RAM and an internal storage capacity of 16GB which could be expanded via a MicroSD card slot (128GB max). The device futures a doubles as the second SIM slot.

Unlike the Huawei Y5 II which has a Removable Li-Po 2200 mAh battery, the Huawei Y5 2017 has been boasted to 3000mAh. While the Huawei Y5 II runs on Android OS, v5.1 the Huawei Y5 2017 comes with version 4.1 based on Android 6.0. The Huawei Y5 II is powered by Mediatek MT6735P Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 - 4G model and Mediatek MT6582 Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 - 3G model, the Huawei Y5 2017 is powered by the MT6737T quad-core chip clocked at 1.4GHz.

While both the Huawei Y5 II and Huawei Y5 2017 features a rear camera is an 8MP shooter, Huawei Y5 2017 comes with an upgrade of 5MP sensor with soft light in front for selfies unlike the Huawei Y5 II which comes with a 2 MP, LED flash front camera.

One cool feature it does have is what Huawei calls Easy Key, a dedicated hardware button on the left that can be configured for a variety of functions.
